Artist in Residence, Graham Hay ( www.grahamhay.com.au )
The LIFE size Sea Art Sculpture classes have begun. The vibe
surrounding this one off opportunity supported by Country Arts
WA is more than interesting with a touch of the WOW factor added.
Unique paper clay sculptures are being designed and created by
local resident artists, teachers and students alike. To follow
this amazing journey please hit the link below and enjoy our
informative and pictorial journey from the delivery of the 1 ½ tons
of paperclay to Geraldton to the creation of Sea Art Sculptures,
that will adorn the Geraldton Fishermen’s Wharf for the
Blessing of the Fleet, Sunday 26th October 2008. Pictures: www.grahamhay.com.au/2008blessing.html
Over a dozen locals will use 165 bags of paperclay in six weeks
to create stunning and up to 2 meter high, oven fired and unfired
paperclay Sea Art Sculptures. This amazing course will allow
many students the ability to be self indulgent in their artistic
ability as materials have been supplied and with a Resident Sculptor
of Graham Hays calibre can only lead the way to great creativity.
Participants in the workshop include local ceramists and non
clay artists, plus TAFE art staff and students.
